Community is built around the table. It was great to see Mayor Kevin Wilk serving guests at Buttercup Diner today as part of a fundraiser benefiting the Walnut Creek Education Foundation. Buttercup has been a family-owned Bay Area favorite since 1988, and what I love most is that the next generation continues the tradition. One of the Shahvar family’s three children can still be found helping run one of their four locations, keeping the same welcoming atmosphere that’s made Buttercup a local staple for nearly 40 years. Supporting local businesses while giving back to our schools is what makes our community so special.
