Why Do Seattle Homes Disappear From the Market in Summer?
Seattle’s summer real estate secret… ☀️ We don’t always stay on the market. One of the biggest mistakes I see is assuming a home should stay active no matter what. The reality is that Seattle has a very predictable summer rhythm. People are traveling, spending weekends on the water, hiking, and taking advantage of the sunshine while it lasts. Homes are still selling, but buyer attention shifts. For sellers who have flexibility, we’ll sometimes pull a listing in early July and relaunch after Labor Day with a fresh debut. The goal isn’t to “wait for a better market.” It’s to market the home when buyers are paying the most attention and avoid unnecessary days on market. Every property is different, and this strategy isn’t right for everyone. But sometimes timing is just as important as pricing.
